Reverend Heather Jones ButlerAssociate Pastor

Reverend Heather Jones Butler began her ministry as Associate Pastor of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in January, 2018. Heather has served on the Anti-Racism committee for the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley; she has been the Featured Artist for the Presbytery of South Alabama’s Presbyterian Women; she is a participant of Interfaith Montgomery and proudly served as the coordinator of Campus Care at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA.

Heather is a 2017 graduate of the Masters of Divinity program at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia and a 2014 graduate of Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. Heather’s lifelong commitment to the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a minor in Christian Education. As the Associate Pastor at Immanuel, Heather has the opportunity to plug her creativity and energy into multiple spaces, primarily overseeing the Christian Education programs and Children and Youth Ministries.

Heather is married to Rhett Butler and is the (new-ish) mother to Jonah (11 months) and exceedingly proud Aunt of Laney (9) and Trey (6). She is a painter, avid organizer and cleaner who loves to spend time outdoors with her family. One of Heather’s primary focuses in her ministry is to assure everyone that they belong and that God’s welcome is wide enough, yes wide enough, for each and every one of us.
