At Immanuel, we hold Word and Sacrament at the center of all that we do. There are many ways that we proclaim the Gospel and the following is just a few examples.
Our Fellowship Ministry oversees the following opportunities:
- Fellowship Snacks: Every Sunday after worship, everyone is invited to gather and have snacks and coffee before going off to the Sunday School hour. This provides a weekly opportunity for everyone to connect and check in with one another.
- Women’s Group: An open invitation to all women to join us monthly at various Montgomery restaurants for dinner and fellowship.
- Men’s Group: An open invitation to all men to gather together in community at a variety of locations in Montgomery. Our men’s group takes a special ownership over the stocking of our Food Pantry and are wholly invested in creating community with the men of Renascence Home, a local rehabilitation facility
- Fifth Sunday Suppers: Occasionally a month will have 5 Sundays on the calendar rather than four. Immanuel celebrates the 5th Sunday opportunity with potluck suppers.
Outreach & Membership
New Member Welcome
Immanuel members also attend Montgomery Pride, MAO’s Tread Red, and many other important community events during the year.
Sunday School: We offer Sunday School for all ages following the worship hour. Our Children and Youth Sunday School classes are currently broken down by age group and spend time studying the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum with dedicated and creative teachers. Our three adult Sunday School classes tackle many topics ranging from spiritual practice in the modern sphere to social justice issues such as gun violence and racism.
